WHY ARE WE DOING IT?
According to the U.S. EPA, 2 million tons of e-waste ended up in landfills, while only about 380,000 tons were recycled. By recycling old electronic products, materials-such as glass, plastic and metal-can be collected and re-used in the making of other products.
This coming February, all television stations will transition from broadcasting on analog airwaves to digital. Some older televisions will not be able to pick up the digital transmission, so Schaefer’s Sony Waste Management, KLKN and Three Eagles Communications are taking a proactive approach to this issue by offering residents a convenient way to recycle their old televisions with its Take Back Recycling Program, through which this weekend’s event is possible.
Now during this weekend of Schaefer’s Christmas in July we are offering this service free of charge to the Lincoln community. It’s our way of saying thanks Lincoln for your support of our company.
You will also receive a $100 savings coupon off any Sony purchase over $999. |
